March 10 (Day 69 of 365)

Today was an incredibly emotional and difficult day.  After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Mum passed away this afternoon with Dad and I in her hospital room.  There is no doubt that she is in a much better place and we will always have a treasure trove of wonderful memories to carry with us for the rest of our lives.  However, not having her physically present anymore is going to take some adjustment for all of us.

I fully anticipated pausing this photo project under the circumstances, but as I was heading to bed tonight I happened to notice the heart-shaped leaves on this decorative plant and it struck me as the perfect photo for the day.  I love you Mum — rest in peace.  If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
